Jennie - you are such a kind soul. I truly am blessed to know you and call you my friend.

I love your idea of a big give for your friend, Jami. I hosted an all day crop for my friend, Shauna, as a fundraiser as she fights cancer. We raised almost $7,000 with a silent auction and a donation to get in. We had so many donations and food even donated. It was a great day with almost 120 people. Another fundraiser is needed for this family and another friend of mine could also benefit, so I am thinking of doing a virtual crop. This way more people across the world could participate. I am just trying to figure out the time of when I can put it together.

You could host an open house and have casino night or something. Have appetizers and desserts with games. Each person has a "Buy in" or their opening donation of chips and then they can go around the games to play. You could also auction off prizes. This could include people outside the scrapping world..

Maybe even a big bunco night would be fun. We play with 12 people in our bunco group and it is a blast. Imagine a hall full of people playing bunco.... Again, each person donates a minimum entry fee and then have various prizes.

I wish you the best of luck with this. If there is anything that I can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask....

Oh were you in Pleaston this weekend? I wasn't there. It sure would of been fun to see you. I am not sure yet if I am going to Mesa. That will be the next show. I am hoping to make it to Manchester. Are you going to that one?

Miss you my friend.
Laura

I've also seen silent auctions be very lucrative. Maybe you could get the YM and YW involved in a service project. I guess you'd have to check up on that with the bishop. People/businesses could donate items. You may have more success if you attempted it in an area where the people have a more personal connection with Jami, but who doesn't want to help a needy soul, anyway? Perhaps it can be done anywhere. Good luck.

I'm the world's most uncreative person, Jennie! But i think you are super sweet for wanting to do this for your friend!

You could do a raffle of sorts? I don't know, but let me know what you figure out!

jennie! first, thanks for the link to the free fonts - i've been dying for some, and i downloaded them all!
you have lots of great ideas for jamie already...but you could also stage a community yard sale, a business could "donate" part of their parking lot - and you could see if any food vendors wanted to come in with donated food - and then have several areas where people could donate money - set up with big balloons, signs, whatever. northern utah loves to yard sale!

I think all of the idea's so far are great. I too am not all that creative when it comes to something like this. You are amazing and I am sure she will appreciate whatever you come up with, even if it turns out to be the simple things. Good luck!

I was thinking a big yard sale too... but I see that was already mentioned.

Or you could auction off a bunch of cards you've made.

Or get a bunch of your creative friends together and auction them off saying they'll make five cards a month for a year for your or something like that where people can use their talents.

Good luck!! let me know how I can help!!
