sweets and sours...

i have so many sweets this week! let me share...

sours:

* kevin sprained his ankle last week... poor boy! but he is feeling much better now!

* i have not really felt good this last week either... lots of crazy things going on with me! i decided this morning that getting old sucks!

* i have not blogged in a long time... sorry friends!

sweets:

* saturday we had a yard sale! it was a ton of work... and in the middle of a really busy week, but now its over! we did well! and got rid of a bunch of junk!

* part of my busy week was hosting a bridal shower for a friend from work. she and her fiance met at sam's club and he proposed there too! it was fun! we had a handful of people there from work and some really great (wink wink) gifts!

* BREAKING DAWN is not out! wahoo! i haven't started it yet... but i will soon!

* i love reality tv! and my all time favorite reality show is on! Big Brother! i wait all year for it! i know... probably not the best... but i am allowed a guilty pleasure from time to time! any other BB10 fans out there?

* ok... another reality show i am loving! "So you think you can Dance?" love it! i am thrilled with the final 4! i couldn't have hand picked them any better! i am a huge fan of Joshua and Courtney!

* i love starburst!

* last week for mutual we took the girls up to the temple and had pictures taken in their church clothes. they were so cute! i can't wait to see the pics!

* has anyone heard of CHA CHA? not the dance... but the number you can text any question to? i love it! just text to CHA CHA (242 242) and ask a question. they will research it and respond to your text message. it doesn't cost anything... standard text messaging rates apply... we have asked everything from what is the best bbq sauce, when is jeff going to get married, how to remove pen marks from a microfiber couch to where is the cheapest place to get gas in logan, utah!

well, friends... enjoy your week!

way over due...

last week was really crazy and to be honest... this week wasn't all that much better! don't ya just love the summer!

i had the opportunity to go with 2 of the girls from my class at church to a retreat last week! it was at camp lomia in sardine canyon! so fun! this retreat was for all of the girls ages 16-18. we made cute little journals, played games and talked about our Savior! it was amazing! melissa and allie are darling and we had so much fun!

the retreat started on tuesday morning and they came home thursday morning. i went up as soon as i got off work both days! man, i love those girls!

then... friday was my friends, julie, birthday. ann, julie and i went to the rodeo friday night in logan! it was fun! ann is not a rodeo, dirt, horse or crowd person and wasn't all that excited to go. we sat in the second row and she asked us if it was safe to sit there.... "oh ya... the horses don't really come that close" we told her.

well... the first horse out of the gate came straight at us! lol! it was so funny! we all laughed so hard!

the next morning the 3 of us headed to bear lake for the weekend. we stayed in a cabin near pickleville playhouse. what a wonderful trip! we ate lots of junk, played games, watched movies, went to pickleville, stayed up late and relaxed at the beach!

thanks julie, for having a birthday! we all had a great time!

i hope all of you are doing well! i am heading out of town for the weekend again ... this time to visit my brother and then to see a play with my momma!

manti, utah...

last night our youth group went to manti, utah for the Mormon Miracle Pageant. it was AMAZING! i have been to this pageant more times than i can count and i enjoy it every time!

we had a great trip! the girls were great! the boys were awesome! they set up and took down our tents, provided dinner and breakfast, and were lots of fun! this was an activity that i am sure they will always remember!

this little clip shows several parts of the pageant! enjoy!

oh... the memories... long car rides... finding the perfect spot... escape for some ice cream... silly games in the grass... wonderful pageant... not enough blankets... up all night... tents zip tied shut by the boys... tent poles taken out... turkey for breakfast...

i would do it all again! ...maybe...

busy girl...

hi there! i am so excited to post all about my week! i have about a million random thoughts floating through my brain... so here goes... the thoughts of a busy girl!
so we survived our overnight shifts... it was a little tough the 2nd night... but all went well...
our halloween costumes rocked! i think we were sooooooooo clever....
can you guess what we were? our job at sam's club is to count everything... so we were...
the count.... team!

ah ah ah...

it was fun... we at least had a good time! ann painted all of our shirts and they were each different and we attempted to wear the fangs... but they didn't work very well!

very, very fun!!

there were some really great costumes at work this year!

wednesday night i went down to centerville to stay with my friend kris. we (dick, kris and i) flew out to seattle early thursday morning for my last scrapbook show of the year! seattle is always a very good show and we had a good time! we were super busy, which is a great thing, and spent lots of time with marsha and sandi from paperloft! they are so great! we love them!

last night we had our Young Women in Excellence program. it was amazing! the girls did such a great job!

i am so proud of each of them!

as leaders, we sang the closing song "Walk Tall You are a Daughter of God" to the girls. last week we all met and practiced. i have to say, it was the first time that i really felt connected as a new yw presidency. we had such a great time... laughed, sang, giggled... sang a bit and laughed until we were crying. it was a great night. i am so grateful for my calling in the young women.

ok... so back to my story... as we started singing the closing song to the girls, our yw president starting crying a bit, then the secretary... i was on the end and was afraid to look over to them... i am typically a cryer, so i didn't need any instigating!! by the second verse, i think almost all of them were crying!

now, i wasn't sure if i should start crying, start laughing or just keep singing!!

i chose to keep singing... i got a little emotional during the last phrase of the song... whew! what an experience! as we all sat down tiffany said (kinda to herself, kinda not -lol) "that is NOT how we practiced it!" i have to say, i thought the whole thing was very comical! we all kinda laughed about it later! one of the girls came up to me after and said jokingly "nice solo, sister little!"

overall, it was an amazing night! we have such an amazing group of girls! i am so proud of all of them! i am grateful that i serve with women who love them as much as i do. we wouldn't have been so emotional if we didn't!

life is good.
